Founded in Massachusetts in 1984, CNC Software, Inc. is one of the oldest developers of PC-based CAD/CAM software and one of the first to introduce CAD/CAM software designed for both machinist and engineers. Mastercam, CNC Software’s main product, started as a 2D CAM system with CAD tools that let machinists create parts on a computer screen, as well as to machine parts in the shop. Since then, Mastercam has grown into the most widely used CAD/CAM package in the world (based on the number of installed seats, as reported by the independent research firm CIMData).
Now Mastercam is on old relic with graphics left over from the eighties. It won’t be on top for long. No customer service and huge price increases are killing Mastercam.
Mastercam is being removed in San Diego, CA because of all the bugs that never get fixed and because of how poorly it’s developed:

I allways thought that Mastercam was the (number one) in the cam-market.
Tho i feel that the cadmodule in Mastercam sucks, i really like the cam-funktions in the software. For example, i dont think there are any other software giving so much different kinds of toolpaths as Mastercam.
Then what is the name of the software over Mastercam?
Featurecam?, Gibbscam?, RhinoCam?, Camworks? (i think not).
